the ‘low-tech’ nature of monoprinting makes it one of the most accessible methods of printmaking but also one of the most creative. combined with  collage elements this is an exciting and experimental workshop to develop and inform your current art practice or as a starting point for complete beginners. mono printing is a great way to produce many prints easily and there are lots of 'tricks of the trade' to learn.

in the workshop you will learn how to

  • prime a plate

  • trace monoprint

  • use cut and torn stencils

  • additive and subtractive methods

  • add colour with chine collé

  • layer prints for more depth

  • add text

by the end of the workshop you will be confident to continue making your own mono prints. further ongoing open workshop days provide one-to-one tuition, use of the space and specialist equipment.
